Despite all the uncertainty around the club this season, we've rallied together, hit some sizzling form and ensured the relegation fight goes right to the final game..
Whether we stay up or not (it's still out of our hands being a point behind Cowes Sports who host Amesbury on Saturday), we really hope to finish the season on a high and with the local community right behind us!
It's been a well documented difficult time for everyone involved with Waterside Sports and Social club, none more so than the staff who heart-breakingly lost their jobs overnight. Despite this set back, there has been an enormous amount of effort by some highly motivated individuals to keep the sports clubs functioning for the whole community (cricket, bowls and tennis too) which is a huge asset to not just current members, but future generations too.
This means that we can continue to offer a good level of non league football to play and watch in the area with a team made up of old school mates from the Waterside, so we hope to see as many people at the game on Saturday to see whether we can complete the turnaround having won three of our last four matches to keep us in with a chance!
Pay what you feel reasonable for the occasion (rather than the standard £6 wessex league entrance fee) but all ticket sales will help towards the running of the club.
Some Oilers scarves are still available for £10 from the bistro, and for those of you that already have one make sure you're waving them around your head next saturday!
Lets make it a great occasion and something to build on for both Fawley AFC and the newly formed Holbury Community Sports Association. This one isn't to be missed...!
UP THE OILERS!
