FA cup and FA Vase draws have been made!

The early round draws of the FA cup and FA Vase have been made! Is this the year Matt Hawkins has to buy a new suit to walk down the Wembley tunnel? Probably not, but he should certainly think about buying some new clothes anyway!

Kev tried twisting Greg Dykes arm by inviting him to the Fawley bowls night in the hope that he'd give us a bye to the finals but unfortunately that didn't materialize.

Below are the draws for the extra-preliminary and preliminary rounds of the FA Cup

FA cup extra-preliminary round
Fawley AFC V AFC Portchester

FA cup preliminary round
Fawley AFC or AFC Portchester v Mangotsfield United

Below are rounds 1 and 2 of the FA Vase

FA Vase 1st round qualifying
Hallen AFC v Fawley AFC

FA Vase 2nd round qualifying
Hallen AFC or Fawley AFC v Hythe and Dibden or Team Solent

We caught up with Chairman Kev after the draw and he gave his usual brutally honest response:

We should be sponsored by Tetleys as a tea bag stays in a cup longer than us!
— Chairman Kev

We also have a poll running on twitter to see how far people think we can go with plenty of responses. Early indications are that our (ever so slightly deluded) twitter followers think we can go all the way this year with 48% selecting a surprise trip to Wembley for the Oilers in 16/17 (with vote count at 25 mid-day Friday).

The FA Cup final is the greatest single match outside the World Cup final - and it’s ours
— Bobby Robson

As long as we're still in it we've got a chance, it's 11 against 11, and any other footballing clichés you can think of!
