Denham Hyde is out of hospital and on the mend!

Just a few minutes into our opening friendly against Hampshire premier league side Infinity and two Oilers Denham Hyde and Dylan Gain had an awkward clash of heads that shocked most people in attendance. Denham certainly came off worse and was helped off the pitch covered in blood.

An ambulance was called soon after and the medics gave him an initial assessment on the Waterside club playing fields before taking him to Southampton A&E. He was discharged later that evening and is recovering well with nine new stitches on his forehead!

We caught up with Denham and he was understandably concerned about his celebrity good looks and his future modelling prospects:

I’ve just taken myself down from an 8 out of 10 to a 6!!
— Denham

Big thanks to all those that were quick to treat him on the pitch and the emergency services for their quick response and doing a great job stitching Denham back together! We look forward to seeing the midfielder back in a clean Oilers shirt once he's fully mended.
