Emirates FA Cup: Fawley AFC 0 v 3 AFC Portchester (07/08/2016)

There was great anticipation leading up to this FA cup game after coming off the back of a win against local rivals Hythe in our final friendly, followed by a dramatic turnaround against Bournemouth Poppies to win 3 v 2 in our Wessex League opener. As usual we had plenty of support on twitter, and even a few people backing us at long odds on Bet365!

After deservedly holding Portchester in the first half 0-0 and having a couple of chances ourselves through an Alfie Cole header and Dan Fry low right foot shot across goal, an early goal in the second half set Portchester on their way who played the more composed football in the second half and ran out worthy winners. There were plenty of positives from a Fawley perspective against a side who will more than likely be troubling the top few places in the league this season.
