With Waterside Social Club currently shut and discussions currently ongoing behind the scenes we were in the difficult position of having to play our home game against local rivals Blackfield on their own pitch!
With Blackfield in pursuit for promotion it was always going to be a tricky task and despite some early pressure from Fawley, the Watersiders got their noses in front from a set piece which knocked some early momentum out of our play. The second soon followed after a nice through ball from a Blackfield midfielder allowed Liam Robinson to put his effort across Lee Burch and into the far corner.
Jamie White soon added a third through a crowd of players for Blackfields' third, and the scoring stopped until half time. Sam Wilson added a fourth mid way through the second half with a crisp finish into the bottom corner and Jamie White completed the scoring for Blackfield as our boys were soundly beaten in this Waterside derby.
