We are delighted to confirm the first team management for next season at Fawley AFC.
Lee Shepherd remains as first team co manager and will now be joined by Steve Griffiths who will step up from the reserve team. Joe Young will be the first team coach and Hayley Payne is our sports rehabilitation specialist.
Lee Shepherd has been a player, reserve manager, first team assistant manager and the past 18 months first team co manager. He is also an integral part to the committee and his connections with the current squad, high standards of discipline, attention to detail is important going forward.
Steve Griffiths has done an excellent job in the reserves last season. His main players were instantly in the first team squad and have developed really well, he’s gathered a group of players and finished a respectable 5th in the Wyvern West Division. The biggest achievement is winning the JSMS Shield Trophy, any silverware is a very rare sight at Fawley. His man management and motivation skills will make him an excellent co manager with Lee.
Joe Young has joined from Sholing Reserves, a club with an excellent reputation for developing players and coaching staff. He’s hungry to push himself higher and take on more responsibility. He’ll get to work closely with the first team, developing players and himself whilst he’s continuing his badges. Certain to be a very useful asset for the club this upcoming season.
Hayley Payne stepped in late last season offering a helping hand in first aid and rehabilitation. She is in her final year at university studying Physiotherapy and has offered he services as a Specialist in Rehabilitation for the upcoming season. Already settled in with the squad and enjoying being part of the team, she is a very welcome addition to the club.
