Fawley returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion as Sayce with two, Hartigan & Willis with a goal each in a 4-0 win over New Milton Town.
Fawley were strong right from the start and looked good going forward. New Milton were also quick on the counter attack and were playing some nice stuff. After Fawley had missed a few very good chances to open the scoring, New Milton Town had the best chance to take the lead. They’re striker neatly slipped in one on one from close range, slotted past the keeper but an excellent goal line clearance from Declan Hartigan kept the scored level.
Fawley took the lead soon after courtesy of central defender Dane Sayce. Macleod whipped in a corner from the right and it wasn’t dealt with, after a few touches, Sayce headed in from close range.
The lead should have been doubled, with Ollie Bradley, Zac Willis and Mark Lilley all causing problems, Willis and Bradley both missing good chances. The second came from Sayce again though, as another Macleod corner, eventually finding Sayce free at the back to control and shoot into the bottom corner.
Fawley 2-0 New Milton Town Half Time
Fawley came out with a high tempo and missed several clear cut chances very early second half. Thankfully they were not punished and the third goal came around the hour mark, Declan Hartigan picked up the ball on the edge of the box and fired into the bottom corner.
New Milton were still looking a threat going forward and the oilers were having to really work to keep them at bay. AFC Bournemouth loanee Tom Parker-Trott didn’t have many saves to make, but his distribution and communication was excellent. The back four were looking determined for the first clean sheet of the season and Elliot Earl was marshaling the midfield battle.
Zac Willis added the fourth late on and it was to his relief after so many chances falling his way, this one though he couldn’t miss. The ever impressive Ollie Bradley again flying down the left wing, this time breaking through on goal and unselfishly squared for Willis to tap in.
